Innocents of Oppression is a powerful, poignant, funny and eminently controversial coming of age work of fiction about a close friendship of two adolescent Deaf teenage boys in an oral boarding school for the deaf boys during the late 1970’s.

The story will take the reader through the deaf education experience that will integrate various real-life experiences of those who were in Deaf education as well as other thought-provoking issues and nostalgic aspects.

Steve Crump of Action Deafness Books describes Innocents of Oppression’ ias a story that will transport you to a different place and time. It will provoke and inspire. It’s an amazing window into the lives of the countless number of profoundly deaf children who were schooled in the oral tradition.

It will be published in Autumn of 2012 by Action Deafness Books.
